  1. Normalized individual

  3.      Each assignment is given an individual weight.  To calculate the total score for a student, each score is multiplied by its individual weight and added to the total score.  The total score is then scaled (normalized) to match the specified maximum possible score.
  4.      Extra credit is added to the total score after the total score has been adjusted for absences but before the total score is normalized.  If a student has no absences, giving extra credit is equivalent to increasing the student‚Äôs score on a regular assignment.
